Male Sexual Satisfaction Survey Produces Surprising Results

A recent survey conducted by BJU International in Norway has produced some interesting new data on sexual satisfaction in men. The research was conducted by Norwegian and American experts and they have reported that men in their fifties are more satisfied with their sex lives than men in their thirties and forties.

1,185 men between the ages of 20 and 79 were surveyed about their sex lives, sex drives, erections and ejaculations. The research has also shown that there is indeed a strong correlation between a man’s advancing age and a decrease in his ability to maintain an erection and achieve ejaculations but interestingly, age had little bearing on sexual satisfaction.

The older survey respondents scored satisfaction with their erection strength lower in their fifties than men in their twenties, thirties and forties. Satisfaction with ejaculation performance showed a measured decline with age, with a sharp fall demonstrated in men in their sixties and seventies. The researchers stated that although men seem to experience more problems with sexual function as they age, they are not necessarily less satisfied with their sex lives, a trend that was noticed well into their seventies.

Other findings showed that 86% of the survey sample was married or in a long term sexual relationship and that over half had had sex in the last calendar month. A quarter of the respondents were on some form of medication, including that for blood pressure, diabetes, anxiety, depression and erectile dysfunction.

Another recent study conducted in July 2011 showed that men as well as women want cuddles and snuggling and that this form of physical intimacy was a key factor in sexual satisfaction and overall happiness in a relationship.

Male enhancements may lead to stable levels of sexual satisfaction

One of the possible reasons for the stable levels of sexual satisfaction in the later years of life may be due to the use of male sexual enhancement supplements. These herbal and vitamin based supplements can be purchased without a prescription and have been used world over to improve sexual performance due to their positive effect on erection strength and staying power.

Many of these male sexual enhancement pills contain natural active ingredients that either act as aphrodisiacs or which improve blood flow to the penile tissue. They have been proven by independent laboratory tests to be effective in improving sexual performance and impacting positively on self-esteem, all of which improves overall male sexual satisfaction.
