10 Simple Tips for Glowing Skin

1. Eat healthily

What you eat is reflected on your skin. There is no substitute to eating healthily. Remember to include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Eating sprouts in the morning also benefits your skin.

2. Hydrate yourself

Your skin loves water. Try consuming at least 8 glasses of water every day to flush out body toxins. If you are on the move, make sure you carry a small bottle of water with you and replenish the bottle when its content runs low. If you do not like the taste of water, squeeze some lemon juice into your water.

Alternative, drink plenty of other liquids, such as juices and green tea.

3. Stay sun safe

Sun exposure results in the risk of cellular damage, wrinkles, age spots and even skin cancer. Therefore, layering your face with sunscreen is a must if you are going outdoors. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF. Be generous in your application of sunscreen. Sunscreen stops working in about 3 hours, so you have to reapply it to stay protected. For easy touch-ups, invest in a good powder sunscreen.

4. Cleanse with care

It goes without saying that if your face is dirty, your pores will be clogged and your complexion will not glow. Therefore, it is vital to cleanse your face twice a day. In particular, make it a point to remove all your make up before you go to bed. However, cleansing could strip your skin of essential moisture. Therefore, use mild cleansers. Cleansers that contain moisturizing ingredients are good for the skin too.

5. Don’t forget your toner

Your skin needs to breathe at nights. After cleansing, you need to apply toner to remove any last residual of make up and dirt accumulated throughout the day. Make up clogs your pores leading to breakouts.

6. Moisturize your skin

You have to moisturize your skin at least twice a day:

– once before putting on makeup in the morning,
– once before you retire to bed.

Choose a product carefully based on your skin type. Avoid oil-based moisturizer if you have oily skin.

7. Exfoliate your skin

Exfoliate your face regularly, but not daily as this will lead to dryness and even irritation. Exfoliation gets rid of dead skin cells on the surface of your skin to reveal younger and glowing skin. Regular exfoliation stimulates blood flow to the surface of your skin. It also provides better penetration for the skin products you apply on your face.

8. Mask your face

Whether it is made at home with natural ingredients or purchased from the drugstore, using a face mask regularly helps rejuvenate your skin. Before you put on a face mask, exfoliate your face. Exfoliation gets rid of dead skin cells and assists your skin in absorbing the goodness in your facial pack.

9. Have a good night sleep

Enough sleep is important for the health of your skin. Just losing sleep for one night gives your face a dull and ashen look.

10. Practice yoga

Many people practice yoga for its health benefits (such as increasing resistance to diseases and correcting poor posture). Yoga is also beneficial for your skin. Practicing yoga helps remove toxins from your body and improve blood circulation. These have an appreciable effect on your skin.
